With lockdowns in place all over the country and long winter walks proving a popular past time, we thought we would put together our top 5 tips for protecting your hair during the harsh cold weather.
Tip 1 - Wash Less
During winter its really important to ease up on how often you wash your hair. Those of you who suffer with greasy hair try using a dry shampoo between washes to avoid the greasy look setting in.
Tip 2 - Avoid Heat Products
The cold weather will very quickly dry out your hair. Using heat products will only make this problem worse. Try to avoid using heat products wherever possible. If you are blow drying your hair, use a low setting and make sure you are using a heat protector such as Angel Potion.
Tip 3 - Moisture
As we mentioned in tip 2 the cold weather will quickly dry out your hair. Make sure you are using shampoo's and conditioners that add moisture to your hair, such as the My.Organics hydrating shampoo and conditioner. As an extra tip using a deep conditioning mask once a week such as Miracle Mask will help lock in that moisture for longer.
Tip 4 - Wrap up Warm
If you are heading out on long winter walks the cold, wind, rain and snow is not good for your hair. A way of protecting your hair is to wear a hat. Sounds simple but just popping a hat on before venturing out on your walk can stop your hair drying out, becoming brittle and possibly breaking.
Tip 5 - Use a Hair Oil
Using a hair oil during the winter will benefit all of your hair and scalp but especially the ends. An oil such as the organic argan oil or the sublime oil can be used on wet hair or after drying and will leave your hair feeling soft, smooth and shiny.
